Last day in Lisbon, we wrapped up tired. No reason, why, but we did. I, of all people, didn’t want to spend time looking for a nice restaurant that we’d walked by accidentally the other day.
So, we decided to stop at Marco, which also we accidentally walked by, the day before this dinner.
The place wasn’t bad, but wasn’t what I was looking for. It was predominantly non vegetarian, but our server was very friendly. He suggested this tofu sandwich which was more like a burger inside thick bread in a bowl of spicy gravy – more like soup.
The patty was soy based and they were liberal with the cheese. The pepper tomato gravy was very flavorful and tasted pretty Indian. The side of vegetarian fried rice had a lot of familiar taste to it too. The rice was great.
More conversations with the server, and we hear that the chef has origins in Nepal. That explained those familiar flavors. He brought a super soft and fresh-off-the-oven piece of of bread for us which was very good too.
One of the few places that baby K enjoyed at something gladly at a restaurant.
