This was the second place I made reservations for, after the flight and The Slanted Door and this was the first meal in San Francisco I had. I virtually starved the whole morning to save my appetite for here, and it was more than worth it.
The place is a genius. I mean the food was. I mean the chefs were.
Favosalata *****
Served warm to room temperature, this was something we did not order, but the server, with too much aplomb and style, let it stay. Glad he did. The hubster told me it reminded him of his Greece days. He’s quite a discerning diner, so that coming from him speaks volumes to the quality.
Zucchini Cakes *****
With cucumber & mint yogurt dressing
Kalamata Pita *****
Flat-bread with Kalamata olives, tomato, caramelized onion & myzithra cheese
Sokolatina ****
Flourless dark chocolate cake with sweetened whipped cream
Ouzo Sorbet *****
Mango sorbet topped with strawberries and ouzo! You’ll know what sheer happiness is when you have this dessert for lunch after a glass of wine in the pretty city of San Francisco and the famous crooked street on your agenda next on a gorgeous sunny day.
