This place keeps popping up on my Google search, but because of the lack of reviews, and the unappetizing pictures, I steered clear of this place until earlier this week.
I was also almost about to turn back because of language issues, but then, I was hungry and decided to go for it. At a measly $28, there was little to lose. A choice of two dishes served with rice and soup. This has to be the heartiest meal I’ve eaten for a meagre HKD 28. And tasty, at that.
They have the dishes on display, so you can just point to what you’d want, if you don’t speak the language, like me! [facepalm]
I got what looked like a vegetable stir-fry with mushrooms and tofu. And the second one that looked hearty was some tofu skin, braised probably. It was a tad sweet, with a touch of black peppers. On using Google translate, it said something Beijing.
I quite enjoyed this frugal meal which I ate at The Center, outdoors!
